There are significant differences in window films for the consumer to compare.
Optical Clarity:
There are differences in the quality of the polyester and the manufacturing process. It is important for you to inspect installed samples of the films you are considering to compare the actual optical clarity and differences in color.
Dyed Films:
Today, more advanced technology allows for very efficient heat and glare blocking films without dyes. There are still some films containing a dye, including "Dual Reflective" films; however, some of the film manufacturers do not warrant against fading. Some film dealers will tell you that they are "very comfortable" that their film will not fade, however, their manufacturer still will not provide a warranty against fading or worse, the warranty specifically excludes fading coverage. We use dye-free films but in the event we do use a dual reflective film containing a dye, our manufacturer's film warranty specifically warrants against fading or color change.
Warranty Language:
There are significant differences in window film warranty language and warranty claim administration that can adversely affect the consumer. These differences pertain to the effective date of the warranty and fading coverage. Not only do we make a copy of the warranty available, we can also point out important specific warranty language differences.
Expensive High Tech Films:
Some film dealers aggressively attempt to "Up sell" consumers to very expensive spectra selective films that are almost invisible. The dealers charge as much as double the cost for standard films. These more expensive films offer very little glare reduction and may also have a higher solar heat absorption rate which can increase the risk of glass breakage. We also sell a spectra select film that has a very low and safe solar absorption rate at a much more reasonable cost; however, in most applications, our standard films are the better investment with quality construction, great optical clarity, top-rated performance, true warranty coverage and VALUE pricing.
